SERVICES OVERVIEW — WHAT WE OFFER

Manual Therapy Services

Manual therapy uses hands-on techniques to reduce pain, ease stiffness and improve movement, so it's available in person at our UK clinic only. At Rehab Point, it's delivered by HCPC-registered physiotherapists as part of a clinical assessment, integrated with exercise-based rehabilitation rather than used as a standalone treatment. We also offer an online consultation focused specifically on guided therapeutic stretching, useful as a complement to your in-clinic sessions.

Anatomy Map

Trigger Point Therapy

Focused direct pressure on localized hyperirritable muscle knots to alleviate referred pain and muscle spasm.

Soft Tissue Mobilisation

Manual techniques targeting muscle and soft tissue tightness to release tension and improve localized blood flow.

Joint Mobilisation

Hands-on movement of a joint to reduce stiffness, restore joint kinematics, and improve overall range of motion.

Myofascial Release

Sustained gentle pressure techniques targeting deep fascial restrictions to ease systemic musculoskeletal tightness.

Therapeutic Stretching

Hands-on assisted stretching in clinic, or guided self-stretching techniques via our specialized online consultation.

FREQUENTLY ASKED QUESTIONS

No, manual therapy techniques such as joint mobilisation, myofascial release and trigger point therapy require hands-on treatment and are only available in person at our UK clinic. We offer an online consultation for guided stretching only.

No. Manual therapy is usually part of a wider physiotherapy assessment, which you can book directly without a GP referral.

Myofascial release is a manual therapy technique using sustained pressure on the connective tissue (fascia) surrounding muscles, aimed at reducing tightness and restriction and improving movement.

Some techniques, such as trigger point therapy, can produce brief discomfort as pressure is applied to a tight area, but treatment should not be sharply painful. Your physiotherapist will check in with you throughout and adjust as needed.

Manual therapy is most often used alongside exercise-based rehabilitation as part of a wider treatment plan, rather than as a standalone treatment.
